About The Event
Walk description:
Join us on our walk up Whernside, the highest point in the Yorkshire Dales National Park!
This classic walk begins at the Ribblehead Viaduct car park and is the best walk to reach the summit, offering stunning views over the Dales and surrounding countryside. The walk is essentially a long climb to reach a wonderful approach ridge which after summiting the mountain is followed by a steep descent and a finale of a pleasant rambling return along lanes and past a couple of farmsteads to the starting point.
We will be hiring a mountain leader to see us safely up the mountain, but we must stress that you are fully responsible for ensuring you are mountain fit and fully kitted out to take on whatever the mountain may throw at us.
This walk will be taking place as part of Abbie Bikes Britain project where Abbie will be…
