About The Event

Walk Description:

Borrowdale is said to be one of the most beautiful valleys in the Lake District, and within this walk you’ll get to experience much of its charm. Starting from the small village of Rosthwaite (where there is limited parking, hence the earlier start), we will ascend Yew Crag via Bowdergate Gill to Watendlath, a beautiful tarn surrounded by a curtain of majestic fells.

From here we will follow a clear path alongside Watendlath Beck, a blissful and tranquil place that feels remote and wild. Once in Ashness Wood we will work our way through the maze of paths to Lodore Falls, a popular spot that has inspired many creatives.

Our path will then descend to the road, which we will cross and pick up a footpath past Great Bay on Derwent Water, before joining The Cumbria Way path along the valley bottom to Grange.

It is the River Derwent that will lead us back to the car in Rosthwaite, through the ancient Low How and High How Woods.

Places are always limited on our walks, so do book on as soon as you can!
